Site Plan and Cliff Elevation - dark area is sandstone formation

The strategy for making a glass architecture on and of this site treats the sandstone as a transitory phenomena relative to the enduring solidity of the basalt. The sandstone is treated as sacred ground, valued and studied for its archival records. It is a place to uncover old artifacts and carefully cast new ones. The volcanic basalt is brought back to its molten state, being cast, drawn and blown as glass into the three adjacent landscapes of forest cemetery, sandstone archive and ocean chapel.
