Chapel Section

A court is carved in the upper cliff face by melting and splitting along the grain of the ancient lava flows. The flow of the new melt is cast in layers, into sand formwork on the beach below to form a glass plinth and stairs. A transparent glass dome is blown for a chapel, rising up out of the stone walls of the upper court.
